New solutions for an uncertain season

COVID-19 Communication Tools

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to announce two new features we are releasing this fall as part of the Alpine Media Platform to help resorts manage social distancing requirements and regulations: Capacity Monitoring and Capacity Control. These two new features are available to all resorts using the Alpine Media Platform at no additional charge.

As skiers and riders, we are looking forward to getting back on the slopes this season and appreciate all extra time, effort, and resources that resort personnel have committed during this off season to help ensure a safe and thoughtful return to outdoor winter recreation.

Kind regards,

Freddie Peyerl, Alpine Media Technology, CEO

Capacity Monitoring

  • Set the capacity limit for each lodge around the mountain
  • At designated entrance & exit to the lodge, resort staff can 'plus or minus' the counter as guests enter and leave.
  • Digital signage across the resort shows how many people are in the lodge and/or how many spots are currently open; mobile app allows guests to see a list of lodges across the resort and the relative capacity/availability in real-time.
  • See a demo here

Capacity Control

  • Set capacity limits and duration of reservation slots
  • Book time at a desired lodge.  Select the number of people in your party and pick a desired time slot
  • Arrive at reserved time to check in
  • Check in the guest and seat them (or let them select a seat)
  • Guest receives a text message when their reservation is about to end (i.e. 5 minutes before) and is politely asked to leave the building to allow others the ability to use their reserved time
  • Digital signage across the resort shows how many slots are still open; mobile app allows guests to see a list of lodges across the resort, the available slots, and provides the ability to book a reservation in real-time

Digital Signage

Emergency Alerts

Send alerts to screens across the resort to get the attention of guests quickly and share critical information such as:

  • Separated skiers
  • Medical emergencies
  • Pass closures
  • Weather alerts

Education

Customize the content you want to share with resort guests including education about social distancing and coronavirus protocols that may be in place. Your team can post pictures and/or videos in any format from the web-based command center and have them distributed to all of the displays wirelessly within minutes.

Information

Share the most relevant information that guests are looking for and promote key on-mountain services including:

  • Lift Status
  • Trail Status
  • Weather
  • Resort events
  • Media (photos and/or videos you upload)
  • Resort services
    • Ticket pricing
    • F&B menu boards and promotions
    • Ski & Ride School information

Messaging

With the ability to send messages directly to screens and all mobile app users, you now have the ability to share information with guests whenever they are on the mountain or off. In addition, messaging can be targeted to different user groups (e.g. staff) and geo-targeting allows you to specifically message guests who are (1) on the mountain, (2) off the mountain, or (3) all users.
